Mountains and rivers, forests and towns, churches and temples… and you thought Goa was just about beaches? It is an almost impossible task to enumerate all the sight seeing places in Goa; because there is hardly anything in this beautiful state not worth seeing. Every street has a charm to it, every nook an ethereal beauty.

Beaches: The beaches in Goa are the biggest tourist attractions in Goa and why not? They are among the best beaches in the world. The crystal clear water of the Agonda beach, the bustling charm of the Anjuna, the romance of Dona Paula or the magic of Palolem all are worth visiting sites in Goa. With an 83 kms coastline, made mostly of beaches, there are hundreds to choose from – some the hub of tourist activity, some secluded and yet undiscovered by travellers.

Churches: A crucial element of any Goa tour is churches. Ranging from the grand cathedrals which inspire awe to the dainty little chapels hidden in quiet neighbourhoods. Notable among these churches are the Se Cathedral (the largest in Asia), the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Church of our Lady of Rosary and Church of Reis Magos.

Forts: One of the lesser known but equally delightful attractions of Goa is its forts. However any Goa travel is incomplete without a visit to these impressive structures. From the historic fort hotel Tiracol to the picturesque Chapora Fort, from the extraordinary Fort Aguada to the Cabo Fort which now houses the governor, there is enough variety to satisfy all.

Temples: Often ignored are Goa’s temples, some of them definitely worth a visit. The oldest being the twelfth century Tambdi Surla temple built in the Jain style. Other temples of note are the Mangueshi temple and the Shree Damodar temple which is supposed to cure all ailments.

Goa Carnival: As any Goa travel guide will tell you, the Goa Carnival can be a once in a lifetime experience. An almost spontaneous outburst of fun and gaiety, this festival of music, dance and laughter draws crowds from around the world.

Adventure: Come face to face with a jaguar in the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, or go undersea diving to say hello to marine life, paraglide, sail or just go trekking. For the adventure lover, Goa is a discovery without end.
