Bandhavgarh-National-ParkIndia Tour Enquire

Madhya Pradesh is the favorite home to wild beasts. Located in Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh National Park is the one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. It is just at a distance of 197 km from Jabalpur in its North-east. To approach this park, one has to start the journey from this well known town of Madhya Pradesh. The park was named after an ancient fort, located in the area.

Nestled beautifully among the Vindhyan Mountain ranges, the park is known for its tiger population. It owns the highest density of the tiger population. One can spot around 46 to 52 tigers.

Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh is also the home to elusive White Tiger. Earlier these forests were the white tiger jungles. But during the last 50 years, no white tiger is seen here. According to records, less than a dozen, white tigers were seen in India, about 100 years ago. It was in Bandhavgarh jungles that white tiger was seen. Declared a national park only in 1968, Bandhavgarh was the hunting reserves of the royal family of Rewa. Placed at a height of 800 m above the sea level, the park is spread over an area of 450 sq. km out of which 105 sq. km. is the core area.

The core area of the park is in shape of a bowl and is surrounded by the cliff and wooded Vindhyan Mountains. The park also has vast wetlands, covered with grass and reed, where you have good chances to spot Kingfishers, Egrets sitting with their natural poise. There is great population of vultures also, staying in the holes in the cliffs.

One of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh National Park is just awe-inspiring. It is a complete universe and sometimes behaves like self-sustaining living organism with its own atmosphere, climate, food and water recycling systems. Like other organisms, it has its own sleep-wake cycle and when sun starts brightening, the forests starts awakening.

The flora in the park includes mostly sal trees, mixed forests, bamboos and grasslands and more. Two picturesque, wooded hills comprise the core of this national park and most of the wildlife watching is done there only. Wildlife in Madhya Pradesh, living in Bandhavagarh National Park includes Nilgai, Chital, Chausingha, Chinkara, Wild Boar, fox and Jackal. You can enjoy Jeep Safari or the Elephant Back Safari to peep inside the wilderness of Bandhavgarh.
