India Nepal Buddhist Tour

Day 01-Arrive Delhi
Our tour representative will welcome you at the Delhi International Airport to your India Nepal Buddhist Tour. You will be escorted to the previously booked hotel in Delhi. Have refreshment in the hotel and take your own leisure choice to shed fatigue of your flight journey.
Day-02-Delhi 
After your breakfast in the hotel, take a Rickshaw Ride to the Red Fort and the adjacent Chandni Chowk, a historic market place of historic Delhi. Visit also "Rajghat", Jama Masjid, "Humayun Tomb", "Qutub Minar", India Gate, hubs of commercial and Government Buildings. You will be captivated by the elegance of ancient roots and modern sensibilities of the capital city of India. In the evening, come back to the hotel and rest for the night.
Day-03- Delhi-Kathmandu
Today you will catch the flight at Delhi International Airport to Kathmandu, the capital of the newly formed democratic country, Nepal. On arrival at Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel by our tour representative. In the evening, just have a look of the Kathmandu city perched on the Kathmandu valley.
Day-04-Kathmandu
On the fourth day of the Buddhist tour to India and Nepal, start your morning drive to Sayambhunath Stupa, the 2,000 years old Buddhist shrine. It is at a distance of 3 km from Kathmandu City and is perched on a hillock of 77 meter high having a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. Then visit to Bouddhanath Stupa, an ancient colossal Stupa which is the centre of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal and Pashupatinath, the temple of Lord Shiva with a two tiered golden roof. Visit also Kumari Ghar, Kashthamandap temple, Akash Bhairav temple, Balaju water garden, and various other Durbars and temples.
Day-05-Kathmandu
Start your morning tour to Patan city, a city of beauty home to various Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples. The craftsmanship and metal work of the monuments of the city will thrill a connoisseur for sure. The most enchanting is the Durbar Complex, an abode of pagoda temples and stone statues. The stone wall and its inscriptions have an artistic beauty. In the afternoon, explore the city more and visit the shopping centers.
After breakfast drive to Chitwan, a district in Nepal perched on the foothills of Himalaya, superbly rich in wildlife and natural beauty. On arrival take a jungle lodge and enjoy a jeep safari to Chitwan National Park with the guide of a naturalist. Elephants, birds, and tigers are main habitats of this park. Your birding dreams will come true here. Rest overnight at the jungle lodge.
Day 07: Chitwan-Lumbini
Today you will drive to Lumbini from Chitwan. On reaching the birthplace of Lord Buddha, take a hotel. On the 7th day of spiritual Buddhism tour to Nepal and India, start your journey to explore the spiritualism of Lumbini, one of the four holy pilgrimage centers of Buddhism. Siddhartha Gautam was born to the womb of Queen Maya Devi here. You will see here the ruins of ancient monasteries, a sacred Bodhi tree, an ancient bathing pond, the Asoka Pillar and the Mayadevi temple.
Day 08 – Lumbini- Kushinagar
Today you have to drive to Kushinagar, a Buddhist pilgrimage centre located in the Indian state Uttar Pradesh. Take a hotel and explore the city. The Buddhist importance of the place is due to Lord Buddha passed away here. Visit the Nirvana Stupa (Buddha’s remains are stored here), Nirvana temple, Kushinagar Musuem, Rambha Stupa, Japanese Museum, Buddha Vihar, Chinese temple, Wat Thai temple, Meditation Park, Birla temple, etc.
Day 09-Kushinagar –Patna enroute visiting Vaishali
After breakfast drive to Patna, enroute visiting Vaishali, a very special place to Buddhists as The Lord delivered his last sermon. See the majestic Ashok Pillar - Lotus tank, Chaumukhi. On reaching Patna, reside in the hotel for overnight stay booked previously by our tour operator.
Day 10: Patna-Rajgir-Bodhgaya
Drive to Bodhgaya enroute visiting Nalanda and Rajgir. Rajgir is an important Buddhist pilgrimage as Buddha spent 12 years here as well the first Buddhist council was held at the Saptaparni cave here. In Rajgir, the Magadhan King Bimbisara took the faiths of Buddha. It has Buddhist monasteries, a Stupa and Japanese temple.
Also explore the UNESCO Cultural heritage site, Nalanda, a historical abode of the 5th century Nalanda University. Chinese traveler Hiuen-Tsang mentioned about the cultural richness and intellectual centre of Nalanda in his India visit travelogue. After visiting Rajgir and Nalanda, start drive to Bodhgaya. On arrival in Bodhgaya, check into the hotel.
On the 11th day of your Buddhist spiritual tour to India and Nepal, start your spiritual journey to Bodhgaya, known as Place of Enlightenment where Prince Siddhartha had attained enlightenment and became Buddha. Visit the Mahabodhi temple complex, where you will see the historic banyan tree where Buddha meditated and attained Nirvana. The sites of Bodhgaya were renovated by Maurya Emperor Asoka as he had a great fascination for Buddhism. As Bodhgaya is considered as the holiest pilgrimage centre of Buddhism, Buddhists from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Burma, Tibet, Bhutan and Japan built monasteries and temples near the Mahabodhi temple complex to mark its importance more.
Day 12: Bodhgaya-Gaya-Delhi
In the morning, start your drive to Gaya where you will catch your train to Delhi.
You will reach Delhi by train. Your Buddhist India Nepal Buddhist itinerary will end today with spiritual exploration of the places. With memories of the spiritual journey catch your flight to home.
