Dussehra

The worshippers spend nine days celebrating the event with dramatization of the great Hindu epic, Ramanyana.  On the tenth day the effigies of Ravana and his son Meghnath and his brother Kumbhkaran are burnt as a signifying victory of good over evil. Qutub Festival of Classical Music and Dance
It is held on the day Sharad Pournima in the month of October at the Qutub Minar complex. Musicians and dancers from all over the country come to take part in this festival.

Diwali: Diwali (Deepvali)

It is the festival of light celebrated in Delhi as well throughout the country during Oct-Nov to celebrate Rama and Sita's homecoming after their exile in the Ramayana. All the houses and markets of the city are colorfully lighted.  Exchanging sweets and gifts are part of the festival.

Lohri
This festival is celebrated in the month of January.  Burning bonfires, singing and dancing are the parts of the festival.

Holi

Holi is the festival of color celebrated in March to mark the beginning of spring. Men and women play with colors sprinkling on each body. It is one of the most enjoyable festivals in Delhi.
