
Botanical Gardens in Hyderabad is a major tourist highlight for the tourists visiting the city. Hyderabad is a historical city and has many historical monuments as its attractions. Sprawling over an area of 120 acres of undulating lands, Hyderabad Botanical Gardens are still in construction stage. After completion, there will be 19 “Vanams” or sectors. Completed First phase of the garden has 5 sectors and is open to public. This section is home to great species of trees including medicinal trees, fruit trees, timber trees, ornamental trees, bamboos, aquatic plants and others. Beside, this great variety of plants, garden also has other attractions like many water bodies, natural forests, rolling meadows, rich grasslands, stunning rock formations. All this natural beauty of the park mesmerizes the onlooker.
Located far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Hyderabad Botanical Garden is like an oasis. Except from the walking trails, entire garden is covered with green vegetation. After entering from the old gate, you will see a large clear area. The Garden has boulevards of charming pine and eucalyptus trees at the entrance. After walking half kilometer, there is a well on the right side of the garden and some stoves, made up of granite are present on the left side. Here at this place you can set a tent and enjoy the greenery. Tents can obtain there locally.
Other attractions of the garden include palm sector and bamboo sector. Bamboo sector has various varieties of bamboos planted there. Each variety of bamboo is signified by the special sign boards, telling generic name and the scientific names of that variety. This way people, who are here for some educational purpose, can get invaluable information. In the same way Palm sector also has the different varieties of the Palms. In this garden flowers are in abundance.
