Regarded as the largest film studio complex in the world, Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad is one of the most popular tourist destinations. Though it contains fully functional film studios but it is also open for the public to let it see the real film world. Located on the National Highway No. 9, this film city is situated at a distance of 25 km from Hyderabad. Established by the Ramoji Group in the year 1996, the Ramoji Film City covers 1,666 acres of land. This makes it the largest film studio complex in the world and has got its place in the Guinness World Records.

Ramoji Film City is a huge film studio complex which houses whole range of production, pre-production, and post-production resources for films. Filmmakers not only from south Indian films but from Hollywood and Bollywood also make use of these resources. With more than 500 film sets, Film City can accommodate shooting of 60 films at a time. There are studios depicting various scenes of villages, urban areas, mountains, gardens, lakes, rivers, caves, fighting scenes, dance floors and more. The outstanding infrastructure of the film city includes set creations, customized locations, mock-ups, shooting stages, properties and -gears, equipments, cameras, digital post-production, film processing, SFX and more. There are some very beautiful and well maintained gardens inside the complex where various film songs are shot.

In term of tourism, the Hyderabad Film City is unparalleled. It has something for all ages groups; children, aged, honeymoon couple. Every year, millions of tourists come here to visit this wonderful place. It is open for public from the 8 am to 8 pm. Tourist has to purchase an entry ticket to the Film City. From the entrance, special buses take the tourists to the main area where various attractions are located.

Inside the Film City, there is provision of accommodation for the various people coming along with the film units. There are two hotels (TARA and Sitara) inside the complex. If you are on a visit to Hyderabad, a visit to Ramoji Film City should not be missed.
