Sulthan Bathery is a hilly town in Wayanad district of Kerala known for its rich history and natural wonders. Jain Temple :
The Jain Temple known as Tipu’s Fort is one of the prime tourist attractions of the place. It is believed that it was built in 13th century. In the 18th century Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Musyore captured the Temple and used as his ammunition store. Besides the Jain temple there are some ruins of Jainism at Sulthan Bathery.
Battery Jumaa Masjid :
Most of the inhabitants of the area is Muslims. Battery Jamma Masjid is the biggest in the town which can accommodate 1000 worshippers. The architecture of the masjid is stunning.
Eddakal Caves :

The distanse of the caves from the town is 12 kilometers. It is said that the caves belong to pre-historic period. One has to trek one kilometer from Edakkal to reach these caves.
