  • Situated on Kozhikode- Mysore National Highway, Kalpetta is placed in Wayanad district of God’s Own Country, Kerala.   • Chembra Peak :     At 2100 meters, the spectacular Peak is located south of Wayanad. Being the tallest summit in the region, climbing it is a daunting task lasting for a full day.

  • Jain Temple :     Lying in ruins, this 13th century temple is one of the renowned sightseeing places in Kalpetta that confirm a period of strong Jain presence in this region. Dedicated to reverred Jain saint, Ananthanatha Swami, it was a Hindu shrine and served as an ammunition store for Tipu Sultan.

  • Pazhassi Raja’s Tomb :     Earliest to revolt against the British, Pazhassi Raja took refuge in Wayanad and resorted to classical guerilla warfare. Killed in an encounter in 1805, Pazhassi king was cremated.
