  • Mosques and Temples in Kottayam :
  • I had been in Kottayam and explored the Thazhathangady Juma Masjid. Really it retains its old charm as one of the oldest mosques in India. I was shocked when I saw its architecttural beauty, and unique wood carvings. Being a tourist I visited also the Thirunakkara Mahadeva temple and like other Hindu temples of India the temple architecture did fascinate me.
    I couldn’t forget the interior murals that I had seen here. The depiction of the stories of the Hindu epics caught my attention and it reminded me the richness of the Hindu scriptures. For one day in my life I became a Hindu and worshipped Lord Shiva in the temple.

  • Rubber Plantation..Worth Visiting :
  • As there was nothing much to do so, I went to the plantation sites of Palatown and Kanjirappally and the scenic beauty of the places were really eye-candy.
    I took some photographs and went to the banks of the rivers Meenachil and Manimala. The landscape was stunning to make me joyous as the idyllic setting always attracts me. To pass my moments I went to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and was lucky to have a view of the migratory bird Siberian Stork and Teal. I also experienced boat ride near the backwaters of the sanctuary.

  • Foods in Kottayam Restaurants :
  • To savor new Keralite cusine I visited a lot of restaurants in Kottayam. Though sometimes I was disappointed, yet I could not deny the delicious dishes of Kerala that I savored in Kottaym. Even most of the roadside restaurants served a wide variety of other Indian and Continental dishes. The taste of the Kottaym sea foods were really lip-smacking. Even in a simple roadside restaurant I ate sometimes to save my pocket.
