Kerala is known for massage worldwide, so while I visited Kerala I did not want to miss a typical Kerala massage. I selected Mananthavady, a little scenic taluka town in the Wayanad district of Kerala. I experienced a week course of Kerala ayurvedic massage in a resort of Mananthavady. I have seen here that most of its forest areas are protected. In the day time mostly I explored the tea plantation, coffee plantations, but the amazing one the sudden view of a group of a wild elephant.
The people were dressed traditionally, men wear Dhotis and smart shirts and they looked healthy. The strong physique of the men reminded me the culture of martial arts of Kerala. I wonder how perfect they would be in, a kicking contest! I have roamed around the shopping center and seen ATMs.
Sightseeing in Mananthavady :
My visit to Mananthavady was a successful one. I stayed there for three days and explored so much in this little taluka of Wayanad district. One day I went off to the banks of the Mananthavady Puzzha tributary and wondered enjoying the picturesque landscape of the location. Completely an idyllic spot….On the second day of my journey I visited the tomb of King Pazhassi and the architecture was really a splendid one. It bears the history of the brave King Pazhassi who lost his life fighting bravely against the British.
Visit to Valliyoorkavu temple was a memorable one. The temple is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Durga and I had an opportunity to witness a grand festival of the local tribes in the temple complex. It was festival celebrated with great pomp and show.
