I have visited Sulthan Bathery, a breathtakingly beautiful hilly town in Wayanad district of Kerala. Though it was a little hill town, yet it had offered so much to me. I visited it in December and hadthe opportunity to witness the mystic winter morning here.
Dew dropped from the tree leaves and the mist and fog covered the sights in the morning. On the second day I went off to explore the Jain temple which was once used by Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan as an ammunition camp hence later the name of place became Sulthan Bathery with local tone of Kerala language. I wandered around the temple and chatted with some local people and enjoyed the favors of their traditional hospitality. I have visited other two Hindu temples here but could not remember the names right now. I had also experienced trekking to the slopes and plantations. The idyllic life of the local tribes thrilled me.
