  • Tree House-An Offbeat Destination at Vythiri :
  • After reading a lot about the tree houses of Vythiri I was dreaming to spend a few days at a tree house of Vythiri. I wondered about the fun of staying in a tree house as it is the business of monkeys. But my idea was quite wrong, I can say now. In the world of travel and adventure tree houses are an added feature and as an adventure freak I did not want to miss this while on a trip to Vythiri, a paradise of nature on earth.

I spent two nights in a tree house that was built on two giant trees in traditional Kerala style. In the early morning I enjoyed the scenario of nature, the chirping of birds was the wake-up call for me. It was an off-beat destination to experience the nature and its beauty. Amazing Birds’ eye view of the greenery from the tree house. Still I remembered the bamboo lift of the tree house which winched me to the top. No modern cacophonies here…

  • Trekking through Nature’s Bounty :
  • Since I checked into the resort of Vythiri, I was mesmerized to see the green treasures of nature. Imagine the resort has its own jungles and pools; I had a good time in the resort availing various amenities amidst the lap of nature. Besides my planned trip to nearby areas of importance like Edakkal caves, Wayanad sanctuary, Phookot Lake, I enjoyed most when I trekked to the hilly slopes, valleys and green plantations of the area. The whole place looked sobeautiful that an unplanned walk meant an exploration of so much. Now I say I was wise when I walked through the trails to each place. In the tea gardens women with a smile picked up tea leaves. I took some photographs of them and other villagers I met. Sometimes Iclimbed the hilly slopes and wandered at the vistas of the lower ground. Really a nice trek through greeneries!
