
Day 01 : Arrive Mumbai / Delhi
South India Cultural Tour will unveil you rich culture and tradition of Kerala, God’s Own Country. When you land at Mumbai International Airport our tour representative welcome you warmly to your tour and escort you to the hotel booked for you. Boarding the hotel room take rest to relive the fatigue of the flight journey. In the evening just wander around the city having the view of the Arabian Sea. Spend the first night in the Bollywood city of India.
Day 02 : Mumbai /Delhi - Thiruvananthapuram – Kovalam
Following your Cultural tour to South India you have to drive to Mumbai airport to catch your flight to Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. You have to again drive to Kovalam, the land of sea beaches and backwaters. The adventure enthusiast can have nice moments in Kovalam as it is known for its water sports centre. As you reach Kovalam take a beach hotel or resort to spend two nights here. In the evening you can have some recreational fun at the hotel.
Day 03 : Kovalam
The Cultural Kerala Tour will take you to Kanya Kumari, one of the most exotic tourist destinations in south India which is the confluence of Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea. Visit there Kanya Kumari temple, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue towring 133 feet tall, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Gandhi Memorial, etc. Don’t miss the sunrise and sunset views in Kanya Kumari. Then return back to your beach hotel of Kovalam.
Day 04 : Kovalam
After breakfast go for sightseeing in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. Various historical monuments of Thiruvananthapuram having cultural significance bear the history of the ancient rulers and colonies of Europeans. Explore here the famous Shri Padmanabha Swami Temple (the seat of Lord Vishnu), Chitra Art Gallery, Napier Museum, Zoological Gardens, famous Kanakakunnu Palace, Veli Tourist Village and the Reptile House Observatory. You will see art works of both past and present in Chitra Art Gallery and Napier Musuem.
Day 05 : Kovalam – Quilon or Kollam
South India Cultural Tour will take you to Kollam, a famous tourist destination as well southern gateway to Kerala backwaters. Kollam is known for its cashew production. Here you will explore the traditional cultural life of the local people. In the travelogues of foreign travelers like Marco Polo, Ibn Batuta, Kollam got mentioned for its rich culture. Here visit the Thirummulavaram and Tangasseri Beaches, Ashtamudi Lake, Temples of Mayyand, Clock tower, etc. Don’t miss boat riding and water sports in Astamundi Lake.
Day 06- 07 : Kollam – Alleppey
The Cultural tour to Kerala will be more mesmerizing one when you will experience backwater cruise in a traditional houseboat or Kettuvallam. Board a houseboat and enjoy cruising down the backwater canals and reach Alleppey. The Houseboats are decorated in great style and design. The houseboat will cruise whole night and it will reach Alleppey in the morning of next day.
On reaching Alleppey get down from the houseboat. Devote the whole day to a sightseeing tour in Alleppey. The main attractions of Alleppey are lagoons, lakes, palm fringed canals and a long sandy beach. Visit here the coir industries and you will get a glimpse of the traditional Kerala village. Before evening board in the houseboat again and spend the night in the houseboat.
Day 08 : Alleppey - Periyar
Today you have to drive to Periyar, a wildlife destination in Kerala. As a part of your South India Cultural tour you will avail a chance to penetrate into the wildlife park of Periyar. Take a jungle resort in Periyar. Explore the Periyar National park in jungle safari on elephant or by jeep. Besides tiger and elephant you will see here other wild animals also. Visit to the coffee plantation gardens and Periyar villages.
Day 09 : Periyar
On the 9th day of South India travel, you will have amazing adventurous moments and experiences. Go to the Periyar Lake and enjoy a boat ride. While boat riding in Periyar Lake you will see wild boars, sambars, elephants, wild dogs, langur monkeys and more. Thereafter take your own choice and just wander around Periyar to kill your wanderlusting spirit.
Day 10 : Periyar - Munnar
Drive to Munnar, a famous hill station in Kerala endowed with mountains, waterfalls, lakes and lush greeneries. While you reach Munnar take a hotel to spend two days here. Here visit the Tata Tea Museum, CSI Church, and Blossom International park and plantation gardens. You will notice here tea, coffee and various spice plantations which are part and parcel of the local Kerala people.
