Ganesh Chaturthi
Mumbai is known for grand celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi. This festival is served to welcome the Hindu Lord Ganesha. It is celebrated for 11 days in the month of August and September. Besides worship and devotion, fun and camaraderie are the great elements of this festival. Food, dance and music are the part of celebrations. Celebrations in Mumbai are just infectious which include people from all the parts of society. 

Elephanta Festival
Located 10 km away from Mumbai harbor, Elephanta is a popular tourist destination around Mumbai.  Besides being a tourist spot, this island is known for famous cultural Elephanta festival.  This is held in the month of February.

Banganga Festival
Banganga tank is located in the premises of Ancient Walkeshwar temple which is situated on the Malabar Hill. This ancient temple was built by the Silhara dynasty. Banganga Temple was built at that time and renovated later in 1715. A grand festival is held here.

Navratri Puja
Grand celebrations are held in this nine-day long festival.  This festival is devoted to the Hindu Goddess Durga Maa. Dance, music, food, fasting and feasting are the part of this festival. Dandiya raas is the particular dance form performed at festival nights.

Kala Ghoda Festival
Kala Ghoda festival is among the famous festivals of Mumbai. For Art buffs, this festival is perfect opportunity to see the best works.  This is an exhibition of works of artists in the fields of dance, music, fine art, theatre, films and others. This festival showcases the rich cultural aspect of the city.
