No medium can influence the people to fight against the negative aspects of society as a film can. First Hindi feature film made in Film Industry in Mumbai was Raja Harishchandra. It was produced by historic filmmaker, Dadasaheb Phalke who is also known as the father of Indian Cinema.  Since then India Film Industry has made Mumbai its home, for about a century.  

Indian Film Industry of Mumbai has come of an age. The movies produced here by the veteran as well as new directors are appreciated not only in India but all over the globe. Films are getting recognized in foreign film festivals and awards.
