Nariman Point is located at the southernmost point of the spectacular Marine Drive which is itself counted among the famous beaches of Mumbai. The land where the Nariman Point is situated was reclaimed from the sea. And this place is located on the shores of Arabian Sea.  It was due to the efforts of Parsi visionary, Khursheed Framji Nariman that Nariman Point took its shape and the place was named after him.  Bombay Municipal Corporation corporate, Khurshid Nariman proposed the reclamation of land. And for this purpose, debris from all over Mumbai was collected and dumped at this place.  A solid platform was built using concrete, cement and imported steel. The cost was too huge due to high cost of steel during the World War II. And this was the starting point for development of Nariman Point.
Fondly known as the Manhattan of Mumbai, Nariman Point is filled with spectacular high rises and highly expensive residential condos. Vidhya Bhawan, the political headquarters of state of Maharashtra are also located here at Nariman Pont.
