Kathmandu

Sightseeing in Kathmandu is one of the most popular tourist activities there. Kathmandu Durbar square is a must-visit place; it was royal palace formerly. Pashupatinath Temple
One of the most known Nepal sightseeing places is Pashupatinath temple. Located on the banks of sacred river Bagmati which is the tributary of River Ganga, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has two-tiered golden roof and silver doors. Banks on the river are lined with Ghats which are used for cremation.

Bouddhanath Stupa
Located at a distance of 8 km from the centre of Kathmandu, Bouddhanath Stupa is a World Heritage Site. One of the biggest stupas in the world, this ancient stupa is the centre of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. This is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Nepal.

Swyambhunath
This 2000-year old Chaityas is among the most famous Buddhist Chaityas. Due to large population of apes living here, this temple is known as the “Monkey Temple”. Buddha’s eyes gaze down from the spectacular Stupa. Situated on a hilltop, this stupa is just 2 km away from Kathmandu. You can have panoramic views of Kathmandu and surrounding valley from here.

Kirtipur
Situated at a distance of 10 km southwest of Kathmandu, Kirtipur is an ancient Newar township. This place is natural fortress. Main attractions here are the Chilmahu Stupa and Temple of Bagh Bhairab. There are lines of aesthetically built houses and temple squares.
Patan
According to Nepal travel guide, you must visit Patan which is situated at the southern bank of river Bagamati. The place is studded with numerous Buddhist and Hindu temples. All of them are example of fine architecture.

Patan Durbar Square
Patan Durbar Square is situated in the centre of city. There are three main courtyards called chowks. These chowks are named as the central Mul Chowk, Keshav Narayan Chowk and Sundari Chowk. There is a Royal Bath Tushahity in the centre of the Sundari Chowk. It is made up of stone.
