A Short Tour to Bhutan

Day 01: Delhi - Paro – Thimphu

You will be welcomed by our tour representative at Delhi International Airport to your  Short Tour to Bhutan. You have to board again the next flight to Paro Airport, Bhutan. Our representative of Nepal will receive you at the airport. Then you have to drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. On the first day, you will see the picturesque landscapes of the valleys, mountains and rivers. You won’t see any traffic lights here. On reaching Thimphu, take a hotel here.

Day 02: Thimphu

Though Thimphu is developing a lot now, yet it has its medieval charm. Visit today Tashichho Dzong, which is the center of the Royal Government and Central Monastic Body. On the way visit the traditional farm house. Visit also National Library which is a home to ancient Buddhist manuscripts, School of Thangkha Painting and the Traditional Medicine Institute. Come back to your hotel and have your dinner.

Day 03: Thimphu

After a traditional breakfast at the hotel, visit the Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang temple and Zangthoperi Lhakhang temple, The National Memorial Stupa, National Folk Heritage Museum and Zorig Chusum School of Traditional Arts. Visit also the handicrafts Emporium and other shopping centers. Explore more of the Thimphu town. The handicraft products like handloom products, decorative items are world famous.

Day- 04: Thimphu – Mendegang

On the fourth day of your Short Bhutan tour, drive to Mendegang enroute the Dochula Pass. Guests will have their lunch at Dochula. Again drive to Punakha Dzong, and explore it.  On reaching Mendegang, take a hotel and stay overnight.

Day 05: Mendegang - Gangtey Gompa – Mendegang

In the morning visit the farming community at Mendegang. Then trek to Gangtey Gompa, the novices of Buddhist monks. The novices are mostly developed in 17th century. Have your lunch in Gompa valley. Spend the night at Mendegang

Day 06: Mendegang – Paro

After breakfast start your drive to Paro district. On the way to Paro, you will have various spectacular views of the Himalayan Mountains, cultivation and idyllic life style of the Bhutanese people. Have your lunch in Thimphu. On the way visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress which is now a religious university. On reaching Paro, take a hotel.

Day-07: Paro

Today visit Durkgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress, traditional farm house. Trek to the Taktsang Monastery, a beautiful Buddhist monastery in Paro valley perched on a hillock. It is located at a distance of 10 kilometers from Paro town. You can drive near to the monastery and then you have to trek to the hillock. Don’t forget to visit the local market and buy some handicrafts products.

Day 08: Paro - Delhi - Home
