In the morning, you will be picked up from your prescribed location in Kochi by our representative and escorted to Alleppey; often called Venice of the East, owing to its picturesque canals, backwaters, beaches & lagoons. On arrival, you will board the Houseboat that will take you on a cruise around the stunning backwaters, where you can sight the local life and business. Enjoy a day cruise and overnight stay on a houseboat in Alleppey. Meals on board.
Today, after breakfast you will check out from the houseboat and then drive to Kochi en route visiting Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary.
Enjoy a walk inside the sanctuary. Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on Vembanad Lake, which shelters the bird sanctuary. An ornithologist's paradise, the sanctuary is spread across 14 acres, and is the favorite haunt of local birds like waterfowl, cuckoo, owls, egrets, herons, water ducks, parrots, teal, larks, flycatchers and wood beetle. The Island of Pathiramanal (meaning Sands of night), with its lush acres of wooded land, attracts a variety of migratory birds that flock in thousands, some from the Himalayas, some even from as far as Siberia, including the Siberian Crane.
