Day-01-Arrival Delhi

Welcome to your Buddhist Tour in India and Nepal. You will be greeted by our tour representative at the Delhi International Airport and taken to the hotel. In the afternoon, you can visit the Red Fort, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Birla Mandir, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk Bazaar, Parliament House and the other tour attractions of Delhi. Spend the first night at the hotel.  

Day 02: Delhi - Lucknow

Have a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel. Then get ready to start your drive to the Delhi Railway station to board your train to Lucknow, the capital city of the Indian state Uttar Pradesh. On arrival, take a hotel and rest overnight.

Day 03: Lucknow - Sravasti

After breakfast, you have to drive to Sravasti, the biggest town in the Gangetic plains during Buddha’s lifetime. Rest in a hotel for a while. Start your first journey into exploration of Buddhism and its places of beliefs. The ancient villages Sahet Mahet have the architectural ruins of the Stupas, Buddhist temples and the Jetavana monastery. Buddha spent 19 rainy seasons at Jetavana monastery which is considered as one of the most famous Buddhist monasteries in India. Now Jetavana is a historical park with remains of Buddha’s hut, monasteries and Stupas. Your first day exploration of Buddhist tour in India and Nepal will end with contentment.

Day 04: Sravasti – Lumbini

On the fourth day of India Nepal Buddhism tour, you will drive to Lumbini. While traveling, stay for an hour at Kapilavastu and have a look of the place where the Lord spent the first part of life before his spiritual journey in search of salvation and truth. You will see here the ruins of the legendary palace of Prince Siddhartha where various experiences led to his spiritual path. On arrival at Lumbini, take a hotel.

Day 05: Lumbini – Kushinagar

In the morning, explore the spiritualism of Buddha’s birth place. You will see here the ancient pond where Maya Devi bathed and the Bodhi tree where she gave birth to Prince Siddhartha.Visit the ancient monasteries, the Asoka Pillar and the Mayadevi temple.

Then start your drive to Kushinagar where Buddha breathed his last. On arrival at Kushinagar, take a hotel. Visit the Nirvana Temple, Ramabhar Stupa and Cremation site of Lord Buddha. Your India and Nepal Buddhism spiritual tour will end today traveling around the two places-Lumbini and Kushinagar.

Day 06: Kushinagar – Patna

Today you will start your drive to Patna, the capital city of Bihar. Visit Vaishali on the way. Vaishali is also a holy site of Buddhism as Lord Buddha preached his last sermon and announced his impending Mahaparinirvana (death). See here the Asoka pillar and Lotus tank. Stay at a Patna hotel.

Day 07: Patna - Rajgir – Bodhgaya

After breakfast, start your drive to Bodhgaya. On the way of the drive visit Nalanda and Rajgir. In Rajgir, the house of the Royalty, visit the Buddhist monasteries, the Stupa and Japanese temple. Also visit Nalanda, have a look at the ruins of the Nalanda University, which is a Buddhist centre during 5th century BC and Nalanda Archaeological Museum. Then again drive to Bodhgaya and on arrival, take a hotel.

Day-08-Bodhgaya

If you are an admirer of Buddhist beliefs, you will be enchanted by the place of enlightenment, Bodhgaya. It is situated on the banks of the mythical River Niranjana where the Bodhi tree is located. Buddha mediated under this holy tree and attained enlightenment. Visit the Mahabodhi temple complex and the other temples located near it.

Day 09: Bodhgaya – Varanasi

On the 9th day of your Buddhism spiritual tour to India and Nepal, drive to Varanasi and land at the heart of the city. Take rest at a hotel.

Day -10-Varanasi

Early morning enjoy a bath at the Ghats of the holy River Ganga. Come back to the hotel and have breakfast and start your drive to Sarnath, where Buddha preached his first sermon at the Deer Park. It still has some remains of past and modern Buddhist temples are built by the devotees here. In the afternoon, return back to Varanasi and visit the Vishyanath temple, Durga temple, and the art gallery of the Benaras Hindu University and other holy sites of the place.

Day-11-Varanasi - Kathmandu

Take your flight at Varanasi Airport to Kathmandu, the royal city of Nepal. You will be guided by our tour representative to your hotel. In the afternoon, room around the city and you can take your own choice. You will avail a chance to have a look of the Kathmandu city as a part of your Buddhist Tour in India and Nepal.

Day-12-Kathmandu

Today visit Sayambhunath Stupa, the 2,000 years old Buddhist shrine, the Boudhanath Stupa, an ancient colossal Stupa which is the centre of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal and Pashupatinath, the temple of Lord Shiva with a two tiered golden roof. Explore other temples and gardens.

Day -13: Kathmandu

Today as a part of your Buddhist Tour in India and Nepal, you will enjoy a morning tour to Patan city, a city of beauty which is a home to various Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples. The arts of the monuments of the city have an aesthetic look. Explore the artistic and royal beauty of Durbar Complex, an abode of pagoda temples and stone statues.

Day-14-Departure
