Cultural Tour to Bhutan

Destination: Paro-Thimphu-Wanduephodrang- Trongsa- Bumthang-Paro-Departure

Day-01-Arrival in Paro

Our tour representative will greet you at the Paro International Airport to the nicely tailored Cultural Tour to Bhutan. He will take you to the hotel in Paro district. On reaching the hotel, take your previously booked room of the hotel. Rest for while to shed off the fatigue of the journey. Afternoon visit the Drugyal Dzong, a ruined fort located at a distance of 16 kilometers from Paro. History says that the Bhutanese army fended off the Tibetan invaders while they attacked Bhutan. From this fort, you will have a nice view of the Mount Jumolhari. In the evening just wander around the Paro town.

Day-02-Paro-Thimphu

Visit the Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined monastery, Rinpung Dzong, the largest monastery of Paro which houses now the government buildings. Vist also the oldest temple Kyichu Lhakhang and the National Museum of Bhutan. In the afternoon guests will drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. On the way you will cross various scenic spots of the valleys and rivers. On reaching Thimphu, take a hotel. In the evening just come out from your hotel and visit the shopping centers in the town. The markets have traditional handicrafts products, texitiles, decortive itmes, etc.          

Day-03-Thimphu

Today explore the Thimphu valley to have a more clear view of the Bhutan Cultural tour. Thimphu has various tourist spots including the temples, monasteries, parks and reserves, government buldings, Art School, National Library and  shopping centers. Visit the National Memorial Stupa, Zorig Chusum School of Traditional Arts, Trashi Chhoe Dzong, Handicrafts Emporium, Folk Heriatge Musuem and Textile Musuem, etc.

Day-04-Thimphu-Tango and Cheri monasteries-Thimphu

Today you have drive 12 kilometers to reach Tango and Cheri monasteries, the most renowned monasteries in Thimphu. Tango monastery, a Buddhist college, is the abode of the young boy Desi Tenzin Rabgye who is known as the reincarnation the 16th century monk. If you have passion for wildlife then you can also visit the nearby Jigme Dorji Wanhchuk National Park. Trek back to Thimphu before evening.

Day-05-Thimphu-Wanduephodrang

On the 5th day of the Culture Tour in Bhutan, drive to Wanduephodrang. On the way, you will meander through Dochula Pass, pine and rhododendron forests. On reaching take a hotel and take lunch. Then you have to again drive to Punakha to see its tourist spots. On reaching visit the Punakha Dzong, the villages and rice cultivation. On the return drive from Punakha, visit the Chimi Lakhang, the fertility temple. Spend your night at Wanduephodrang.

Day-06- Wanduephodrang-Trongsa

You will start your journey to Gantey. The oak trees, rhodendron, will pass by your side like a wheel. On reaching visit the Nyingmapa monastery that is located in western Bhutan. At Gantey, the spectacular views of the Black Mountain range, the landscape of Phobjikha valley will stun your eyes. Start again your drive to Trongsa, once the home of the ancestors of royal family. Take a hotel for overnight stay.

Day-07-Trongsa

Explore the architectural beauty of Trongsa Drong and Ta Dzong.  Then start your drive to Bumthang, the religious centre of Bhutan. In your journey you will cross lush valleys and hilly spots. On the way, you can stop for a while at a textile weaving center to see the weavers of textile. On reaching Bumthang, stay at a hotel. In the evening you can come out to explore more of Bumthang town.

Day-08-Bumthang

Explore its cultural sites, historical places and the fascinating locations for hikers and trekkers. This valley consists of four valleys together which are eye-candy. Visit here
the Buddhist monasteries and pilgrimage centers such as Jakar Dzong fortress, Jambey Lhakhang monastery, Kurjey Lhakhang temple, Mebar Tsho temple, etc. Evening roam around the town again. Come to your hotel and lay on the bed.

Day-09-Bumthang-Wangduephodrang

As a part of your Bhutan Cultural Tour Itinerary, you will drive to Wangduephodrang. On reaching Paro take a hotel to spend the night.

Day-10- Wangduephodrang-Paro

Start your drive to Paro valley. On reaching take overnight rest at a hotel in Paro.

Day-11-Trek to Taktsang Monastery(Tiger’s Nest Monastery)

After breakfast at the hotel, trek to the Taktsang Monastery perched on a hillock. This monastery is visited by monks from all over the world. You can drive to the ground near the monastery. From there trek to the monastery located at an altitude of 3120 meters above sea level.Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Explore its beauty and visit the seven temples of this monastery. In the evening you can go for shopping.

Day-12-Paro-Departure

Your Bhutan cultural tour packages will end today with exploration of various spots of the Bhutan. Take your flight at Paro International Airport.
