Everest Base Camp

Everest Base Camp is located near the Mount Everest, the highest peak of the world situated in the  higher Himalyan Range in Nepal. The base camp are categorized into two camps depending on the location of its sides. The south side is located in Nepal and the north side is located in Tibet. The south base camp is located at an altitude of 5,360 meters while the north base camp at an altitude of 5,208 meters.

Base camp in Mount Everest, Nepal is a place where the mountaineers while trekking to the Everest Peak use as a camp during their climbing up and down to the mountain. The mountainneers use the south base camp while climibing through the south ridge and use the north base camp while climing through the north ridge.
Several tent houses are temporarily built at the base camps where the mountaineers take rest before and after the mountaineering expedition. The sherpas carry the essential needs of the mountaineers to this base camp. One can reach the north base camp by vehicle in summer months but the south base camp has no vehicle access. The mountain climbers stay at the base camps to adjust with the climate before starting their mountain trekking to the highest peak of the world.
