This nearly four months long Utsav or festival is held every year during the full-moon period in winters (between November to February).

The Rann of Kutch is a seasonal salt marshland in the Thar Desert, that turns white during winters, provides a perfect backdrop for the colorful festival of Rann, when during a full moon night the place turns ethereal white.
