Mesmerizing Hills of Karnataka and Ooty

Day 1: Arrival in Bangalore
On arrival at Bengaluru International Airport/Railway Station, you will meet our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in town. Choose to spend the rest of the day at leisure at the hotel or set off on an optional sightseeing spree of Bangalore city on your own. Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka, the second fastest growing metropolis of India, and country’s IT hub. Explore the various famous sights of Bangalore or enjoy shopping at some of the many popular shopping malls and streets the city is known for. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 2: Bangalore-Ooty [250 km/approx. 5 hrs drive]
Morning, after breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Ooty - The Blue Mountains, located deep within the Nilgiri hills. Lofty mountains, great lakes, dense forests, sprawling grasslands, miles of tea gardens, eucalyptus trees and the striking winding roads greet the visitors en route to Ooty. En route, visit Bandipur or Madhumalai National Park (both are tiger reserves, home to varied species of wildlife, and are two very beautiful national parks in India) and Pykara Waterfall (one of the best waterfalls in Ooty). On arrival at Ooty, check in at the hotel and spend rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Ooty-Coonoor [22 km/approx. 50 min] - Ooty
After enjoying breakfast at hotel, proceed on a full day sightseeing at Ooty. Visit the scenic Coonoor Tea Gardens, reach two stunning viewpoints at Lamb’s rock and Dolphin’s Nose (it’s an enormous and unique rock formation, 1000 ft above sea level) at Coonoor where you can get view of the plains below and of the tea and coffee estates. Then, proceed to Ooty (by toy train - optional) and upon arrival, proceed for sightseeing at Ooty. Visit Doddabetta peak, one of the the highest points in Ooty, which is also a wonderful trekking spot. Also, Botanical Gardens - a charming terraced garden, Ooty lake - an artificial lake with picturesque natural surroundings and a great place for recreation, find more than twenty thousand varieties of roses at the Rose Garden, etc. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 4: Ooty-Mysore [127 km/approx. 3 hrs drive]
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Mysore. Mysore is the second most populous city in the state of Karnataka and is noted for its heritage structures and palaces. On arrival at Mysore city, visit Chamundi hills, the abode of Godess Chamundeshwari, then visit Mysore Zoo, St. Philomenas Church - a Catholic Church built in 1936 and recognized as Asia’s second largest church, World famous Mysore Palace, the sprawling home of the royal family of Mysore who ruled Mysore for over 500 years. The palace is a stunning work art and architecture built in the late 19th century and designed by an English architect. In the evening, visit the lovely Brindavan Gardens (KRS), which is said to be one of the best terrace garden ever and it’s also famous for its musical Color Fountain. Return to the hotel in Mysore and stay overnight.

Day 5: Mysore-Coorg [118 km/approx. 3 hrs drive]
After breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Coorg. Coorg is a popular hill station located high (3800 ft above sea level) on the Western Ghats on the south-western part of Karnataka. En route, visit to Bylukuppe Tibetan Settlement, the largest Tibetan settlement in India located near Kushalanagar in Kodagu District. The settlement set up in 1960 and is a must visit place for its smiling monks, monasteries, dazzling Buddha sculptures and delightful paintings. On arrival at Coorg (also called Madikeri), check in to the hotel. In the evening, proceed to visit Abbi waterfalls, then to Omkareshwara Temple - an ancient Hindu temple having both Islamic and Gothic style of architecture. Then proceed to Raja Seat - perhaps one of the most scenic spots in South India. Enjoy beautiful views of mountains of Coorg from here. Return to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: Coorg Full-Day Sightseeing
This morning after breakfast, go on a sightseeing spree of Coorg. First, visit to Dubare Elephant Camp, a forest camp on the banks of the River Kaveri where bathing and feeding and other interesting activities with the elephants are done. Dubare elephant camp is a must-experience for elephant lovers. Afternoon, proceed to Talacauveri - the source of River Kaveri located near the Brahmagiri Hill, trek Brahmagiri peak and then visit to the pilgrimage spot of Bhagamandala, which is famous for the confluence of the three sacred rivers, Kaveri, Sujyothi and Kanike and is a sacred bathing spot. Return to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7: Coorg-Bangalore Departure [259 km/approx. 5.5 hrs drive]
After breakfast, check out the hotel and proceed to Bangalore. En route, visit Kaveri Nisargadhama, a wonderful picnic spot situated on the banks of River Kaveri at Kushalnagar and Srirangapatana, having magnificent monuments. On arrival at Bangalore, transfer to the Railway Station or Airport to connect a flight/rail to your onward journey.
