To begin with, there are eight days of rituals for preparation, during which time the monks prepare the mandala. Thereafter, the students are initiated, following which they are permitted to see the completed sand mandala. The ceremony ends with the monks releasing a positive energy of the mandala into the everyday world via an ultimate ritual.
The ceremony, which is likely to draw thousands of committed people, will be held at "Buddha Garden" in Choglamsar, which is about 10 kilometers from Leh, Ladakh. The Gardens are a big meadow on the banks of Indus river adjacent the Shiwatsel Phodrang, the residency of His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama. Set in the forefront of the mighty Himalayas, the venue serves as just the right place for dawning of enlightenment and peace upon pupils.
A package to attend the ceremony will include international flights to and fro from New Delhi, domestic flights to Leh, accommodation in the vicinity of the teaching ground in luxury tents, support and assistance in the course of the teachings, and all major meals.
