North-east India is blessed with nature’s unhindered bounty. Cheerapunji, receiving the highest rainfall in the world is visited by many, owing to its virgin beauty. Kaziranga boasts of sheltering endangered one-horned rhinos and largest density of tigers. Jungle safaris surely give a glimpse of these species.
Day 1: Arrive Guwahati by air & drive to Kaziranga (225kms; 5-6hrs drive approx.)
Our representative will welcome you on arrival and then drive to Kaziranga.
Upon arrival you will check in at a hotel and relax. Later in evening enjoy bonfire at the resort. Overnight in Kaziranga
Day 2: Kaziranga
Enjoy morning and afternoon jungle ride at Kaziranga National Park.
Nestled in the north-eastern Zone, Kaziranga houses the biggest population of one-horned rhinos and largest density of tigers in India. The mixed deciduous and semi-evergreen forests are home to a wide variety of animals - Bengal fox, Fishing cats, leopards, jackal, sloth bear, Indian pangolins, Gray mongoose, hare, wild boar, hog deer, wild Asiatic water buffalo, gaur, sambar, flying squirrels. Endangered Ganges dolphins are found in rivers here. While undertaking jungle safari, don’t dare to step out into the tall grasslands which happen to home viper, King Cobra, Rock python, common krait.
Watchtowers are perfect for ornithologists. Watchout for lesser and greater adjutant, black-necked stork, White-bellied heron, fish eagle, pied kingfisher, common teal, water cock, weaver, brown fish owl, spotted owlet, white goose, black bellied tern, Indian vulture, Bengal Florican.
Overnight in Kaziranga
Day 3: Kaziranga-Shillong (275kms; 7 hrs drive approx.)
After breakfast drive to Shillong; upon arrival check in at a hotel and relax. In evening walk around the market areas (if time permits). Overnight in Shillong.
Day 4: Shillong
After breakfast proceed for day excursion to Cherapunji- the wettest place on earth. Later in afternoon back to Shillong and visit Wards Lake and Botanical garden. Overnight in Shillong
Day 5: Shillong-Guwahati (95kms; 3 hrs drive approx.)
After breakfast drive to Guwahati en route photo stop at Umiam lake (approx 19kms from Shillong). Upon arrival Guwahati you will check in at a hotel and relax. Overnight in Guwahati
Day 6: Guwahati
After breakfast drive to Sualkuchi village (approx.20kms from city)- the ideal village known for handicrafts, hand-weaving of silk clothes which is famous internationally. Thereafter back to city and visit famous Kamakhya temple locate hill top. Later visit the Nabagraha temple within city. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Guwahati
Day 7: Guwahati departure
After breakfast you will be given transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination; hereafter our services terminate and we wish you safe, happy journey back to your home.
