Itinerary

On arrival at Guwahati Airport, our representative will welcome you and then drive you to Kaziranga. Upon arrival you will check in at a hotel and relax. Later in evening, enjoy bonfire at the resort. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Enjoy morning and afternoon jungle ride at Kaziranga National Park. Nestled in the north-eastern Zone, Kaziranga houses the biggest population of one-horned rhinos and largest density of tigers in India. The mixed deciduous and semi-evergreen forests are home to a wide variety of animals - bengal fox, fishing cats, leopards, jackal, sloth bear, Indian pangolins, gray mongoose, hare, wild boar, hog deer, wild Asiatic water buffalo, gaur, sambar, flying squirrels etc. Endangered ganges dolphins are also found in the rivers here. While undertaking jungle safari, don’t dare to step out into the tall grasslands which happen to home viper, king cobra, rock python and common krait. It is a birder’s paradise where one can spot lesser and greater adjutant, black-necked stork, White-bellied heron, fish eagle, pied kingfisher, common teal, water cock, weaver, brown fish owl, spotted owlet, white goose, black bellied tern, Indian vulture, bengal florican etc. There are watch towers in this park which are perfect for ornithologists. After breakfast, drive to Shillong. Upon arrival check in at a hotel and relax. If time permits, evening is free to walk around the market. Overnight in Shillong.

After breakfast, proceed for day excursion to Cherrapunji- the wettest place on earth. You will visit many waterfalls here named as Seven Sisters Waterfalls, Nahkhalikai Falls, Dainthlen Falls etc. Also visit the Mawsmai Cave, a beautiful limestone cave, partially opened for the tourists to visit. The stalactites and stalagmites caves have innumerable forms, shapes and sizes inside which leaves one to imagine as many life forms as possible. This magnificent natural wonder is the handiwork of years of natural abrasion and underground water. Post sightseeing, drive back to Shillong and visit Wards Lake. Locally known as Pollock’s Lake or Nan Polok, it is the core architectural design element around which the Shillong City has been planned. Beautiful botanical gardens surround this lake and which offers to view a wide spectrum of orchids in full bloom. Later, return to the hotel and relax. Overnight in Shillong.

After breakfast drive to Guwahati. En route stop for phot opportunity at Umiam Lake, a mesmerizing man-made reservoir located at a distance of approx 19kms from Shillong. Upon arrival in Guwahati, check in at the hotel and relax. Overnight in Guwahati.

After breakfast drive to Sualkuchi village (approx.20kms from city) - a heaven for silk fabrics ranging from the golden Muga to the ivory white ‘Pat’ and the light beige ‘Eri’ or ‘Endi’ silks. Sualkuchi was established as a silk weaving village in the 17th century. Visit a household to see the processing of Silk from cocoons to finish product. All the weaving is still done on handloom. Thereafter drive back to the city and visit famous Kamakhya temple located at the top of Nilachal hills. A majestic temple, it is also one of the oldest of 51 Shakti Peeths. Later visit the Nabagraha temple, the temple of nine celestial bodies. Post sightseeing, rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in Guwahati.
