It's one of India’s largest and oldest museum libraries which displays rich collections of memorabilia and paintings related to Queen Victoria and other aspects of Indian and British history. It also houses a wide collection of sculptures, paintings by celebrated painters, rare photographs, manuscripts, statues, and other historical treasures.
From the square, head to St. Paul’s Cathedral, and admire its beautiful stained-glass windows and Indo-Gothic architectural style.
Your last stop on this tour is the South Park Street Cemetery, one of the earliest non-church cemeteries in the world, which was active from 1767 until about 1830. As one of the oldest Christian burial grounds in the city, it bears the testimony of many eminent citizens from Kolkata’s colonial settlers who lived and died here.
