Private Half-Day Village and Tarn Taran Temple Tour in Amritsar

You will be picked up from your hotel in Amritsar by our guide who will accompany you on a day tour to a village and Tarn Taran Sikh Temple otherwise known as Gurdwara Sri Tarn Taran Sahib. 

On your way to the Tarn Taran Temple, you will take a pleasant break at a village. Ambling around the village for about 20-30 minutes, you will uncover narrow brick-tiled village path, village huts, cow and buffalo sheds, and other village delights. Your guide will be sharing insights with you of the village as you tour around. Hereafter, you will proceed to the tractor alleys and upon reaching here, you will be riding on a tractor and will be shown across to the fields of the villagers. You can enjoy here views of the green fields and the adjacent village sights. Make the most of your village experience; clicking pictures or interacting with the locals; our guide will be there to help communicate. After spending about 30-45 in the village, you will be driven to Tarn Taran city where you will visit Gurdwara Sri Tarn Taran Sahib. The city was founded by the fifth Sikh guru, Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji (1563-1606), who also laid the foundation of the Tarn Taran Temple in 1590. Your guide will share with you historical anecdotes related to this city from the period of the partition of Punjab during India’s Independence as well as other interesting accounts of the city.   

Tarn Taran Temple is one of the oldest gurudwara in the region, and houses a large Sarovar (pond) inside the complex, believed to be the largest among all the Sikh shrines. Spend time here admiring at the grand opulence of this temple, which looks more like a palace, adorned with beautiful architecture. Your tour ends after the visit to the temple; ready for a transfer back to the hotel in Amritsar.
