Vaishno Devi in Jammu is one of the sacred pilgrim halts in India. Millions trek to the shrine in summer for religious reason or sheer adventure. One of the most popular pilgrim centres in the world, the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is set in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains in Jammu and Kashmir. Here, the Bhawan houses the sanctum sanctorum or the holy cave where the goddess manifested herself in the form of natural rock formations, known as the three Holy Pindies. Visited by millions of pilgrims every year, the Mother Goddess is believed to fulfil whatever her devotees wish for.
Upon arrival at Jammu railway station, our representative will meet you and transfer you to Katra. Katra is located on the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains in the Himalayas is the one of the most religious cities in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the closest halt for the devotees coming to the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, one of the most respected deities of Hinduism. Katra draws a huge number of devotees though out the year. After breakfast, climb up towards the pious Vaisho Devi Shrine; the uphill trek will take an approx. 4-5 hours on foon with a normal stretch (14kms approx.). Upon arrival at the Shrine you will have darshan and thereafter you will relax at Bhawan- we will specially arrange for a room at the Bhawan so that you can relax and get rid of your tiredness. Early morning you will walk down to Katra. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay in Katra.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel drive to Jammu; upon arrival, check in to the hotel and relax. Later, you will enjoy half day city tour of Jammu. Raghunath Temple; Raghunath Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama was constructed by Maharaja Gulab Singh. The finishing touches were given by his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh. The temple consists of seven shrines and each shrine has a simple tower. The tower over the central shrine is curvilinear. Its fluted surface, arches and niches indicate a Mughal influence. The inner walls of the main temple are covered with gold sheet on three sides. There are many galleries with innumerable 'saligrams'. The surrounding temples are dedicated to various Hindu deities from the epic Ramayana, images of Vishnu in various incarnations, Shiva and Surya. There is also a stone lingam here and is a great centre for the Shakti worship. The portrait of Ranbir Singh and a sculpture of Hanuman are situated at the entrance. Later, visit Bahu Fort and Gardens. Bahu Fort represents the majestic culture and vibrant lifestyle of Dogra Kings. The gardens on fort premises wear a green grass cover dotted with bright flowers. Bahu temple inside the premises dedicated to Goddess Kali is thronged by devotees on weekends. Overnight stay in Jammu.
Early in the morning, check out from the hotel and leave for the railway station to board train for onward destination; henceforth tour ends.
